Who is Borderlandz Paintball?
Borderlandz Paintball is an independently owned and operated business. Being family run, we pride ourselves in offering the best experience our players can have. Please be aware that we are not affiliated with any other paintballing operations.

What is Paintball?
Paintball is a sport in which players compete, in teams or individually, and attempt to eliminate opponents by ‘tagging’ them with paintballs fired from a paintball marker. The paintballs are composed of a non-toxic, biodegradable, water soluble polymer.
Games can be played on very hard floors in indoor fields, or outdoor fields of varying sizes. A paintball field is scattered with natural or artificial terrain, which players use for tactical cover.

What is a paintball marker?
Also known as a paintball ‘gun’, they are the main piece of equipment in the sport of paintball. Markers use an expanding gas, such as Carbon Dioxide (CO2) or High Pressure Air (HPA), to propel paintballs through the barrel. The speed the paintball leaves the barrel is between 250 – 270 feet per second. 300 feet per second is the legal limit world wide. A ‘hopper’ or ‘loader’ is ontop of the marker feeding the paintballs into it, these can be gravity fed or mechanically fed.

What are the age requirements?
Although there is no minimum age to play paintball in New Zealand, we ask that players are at least 11+ years to play Adult Paintball. However we now offer Low Impact Paintball for kids 8 – 10 years old! 

How many players can play at once?
We can currently run up to a maximum of 20 players on the field at one time and need a minimum of 6 players before we can run a game to cover our costs.

Can I get a discount if I bring a large group?
We feel that Borderlandz Paintball offers competitive pricing across the board. However, if you’re after an even better deal, keep an eye out for our OPEN DAYS and SPECIAL EVENTS.

What do I bring?
Yourself; we provide you with all the equipment you need to play on the day. This includes a paintball marker, paintball mask and paintballs. If you require overalls, gloves or any other gear; we have it available to rent. To make your day as enjoyable as possible, please also bring suitable footwear for running. Paintball can be very physical and mentally demanding.

What will happen on the day?
Upon your groups arrival, we will explain the rules and regulations of Borderlandz Paintball. You will then be asked to read and sign our waiver and purchase the player package that you will require for the days play. Don’t worry, if you require more paintballs or other equipment later, you can purchase these throughout the day.

We will then explain to you the proper use of all the equipment including the paintball mask, marker and how the field operates during, between and after games. An explanation on how the games will be run is followed by answering any questions you may have. Before you enter the field we will divide you into suitable teams on preference, experience and numbers.

Your games will be approximately 10 – 20 minutes long and you can expect to have a 5 – 10 minute break between each game. We run  3+ games during your 2 hour time slot with us.

What if it’s raining?
We will contact you by phone a day or two before to discuss this. Yes you CAN play paintball in the rain if you want to. Its up to you. We would suggest though, to bring some old clothes as you will get muddy! However, if you want to reschedule for another day we can do that at NO EXTRA COST.

When is Borderlandz Paintball open?
We run most of our games on Saturdays and Sundays; so if you see an OPEN sign and a whole bunch of cars parked up at the field, come in and say ‘Hello’. Otherwise you can get hold of us on 0508 P8NTBALL or at https://www.facebook.com/BorderlandzPaintball/.

What payment options are available?
Cash, EFTPOS, Credit Cards and Bank deposits are accepted.

How many paintballs do I need for a game?
Obviously this entirely depends on your playstyle. You will start off with 200 paintballs which should happily 
see a conservative player through the time you are with us. However, you must keep in mind the paintball 
markers we use will shoot 5 paintballs a second (if you can pull the trigger that fast), so your 
200 paintballs may only last 40 seconds! On average we have found that a normal player will shoot 
between 250 – 400 paintballs during our games.

Can I bring my own paintballs?
No, the reason being is that Borderlandz Paintball takes care in the quality of paintballs we are supplied and the paintballs we
ultimately provide for you. We also make sure our paintballs on the day have the correct ‘paint to barrel’ match for your game,
to give you the best possible accuracy and efficiency.

Can I bring my own gear?
Yes you can! Anyone bringing their own gear gets a $10 discount off the RECRUIT package. If you require extra paintballs we have them available for purchase. Please note that if you do bring your own gear, make sure it has been recently serviced and is functional. If your gear fails and you require our equipment, you will be charged the normal rental price for our equipment.

Do you supply High Pressure Air (HPA)?
We do not supply HPA at Regular booked paintball games, however we do supply HPA during our OPEN DAYS and SPECIAL EVENTS.
This HPA is first in first served so we recommend bringing a tank just in case.

If my children are playing, do I (Adult) need to be there?
All under 18 years of age players must have a adult accompanied with their group during the day. You don’t have to play, but we don’t want to be running games and ‘baby sitting’ during this time.

What about Alcohol or Drugs?
We have a strict NO ALCOHOL or DRUGS policy while participating in any of our games. If you are found to be under the influence of any substance on arrival or during your time at our field, you will not be playing paintball with us. We are looking at you, STAG DO’s!
